Ninth Regiment Savin Rock Reunion circa 1900 |
Biographical sketches and notes on some of the soldiers are included in this section. While much of the information comes from Murray's "History of the Ninth Regiment C.V.", additional information was provided by a variety of sources including descendants of the soldiers and their distant families. While full details are missing in many cases, particularly for enlisted men, the following is an attempt to provide some personal history of the men of the Ninth. As 250 men died during the wars, some of them in within a few short years after the war ended, many of them traveled and settled in a number of locations throughout our country, and generations have come and gone, details are not available for many of the men.
